Origin Stories

A Moment of Literal Impact

As a teenager, I traveled down the Colorado River with an organization called Grand Canyon Youth. The experiences I had in the Canyon inspired me to take the risk and become a scientist.

I shared my science origin story at the Grand Canyon Youth River Tales event in Nov. 2024. The theme was "Moments of Impact."

Science through Storytelling

I told this story live on stage at the October 2023 Flagstaff Festival of Science. This event was a collaboration with Story Collider and Writing Class Radio, and has been featured on podcast episodes by both.
